Amazon revealed on Wednesday that it will be launching an AI agent that is always on to assist its platform’s merchants in managing their businesses. In order to assist with chores on behalf of the seller, the business is improving Seller Assistant, its AI tool for third-party sellers.

According to a press release from Amazon, “Our agentic AI capabilities are designed to work seamlessly throughout the entire selling experience, which means sellers can go from handling every task themselves to collaborating with an intelligent assistant that works proactively on their behalf day and night, while always keeping sellers in control.” “So that sellers can concentrate on innovation and expansion, the seller assistant will be able to manage everything from simple operations to intricate business strategy.”

According to Amazon, Seller Assistant may now help create strategies and take action when permitted in addition to keeping an eye on inventory and account health.

When a seller is going through their inventory, for instance, a seller assistant will identify slow-moving items before they incur long-term storage expenses and suggest whether it would be wise to keep the item in stock, reduce its price, or remove it completely. Additionally, the seller assistant will be able to create shipment recommendations and monitor demand trends.

A seller assistant keeps a close eye on a seller’s account and flags any possible problems or behaviors, like inventory listings that might be in violation of the most recent product safety laws. Furthermore, it can automatically guarantee that every product a seller sells satisfies compliance standards in any nation where they do business.

Tech businesses are very interested in agent-driven commerce because they see a time when agents would be able to make purchases or start negotiations on behalf of their customers. Despite not naming Amazon as a partner, Google unveiled a new payments system for agentic transactions on Tuesday.

Additionally, Amazon said that it is integrating agentic AI into advertising, enabling vendors to create advertisements using conversational cues.

The most recent AI technologies that Amazon has made available to third-party merchants on its marketplace are highlighted in today’s announcement. Additional tools include a generative AI tool that assists businesses in improving their product listings and an ad video creator.
