Google’s Gemini AI assistant now has the ability to turn basic tale concepts into customized illustrated storybooks with original artwork and narration. With today’s announcement of the Storybook feature, users may describe any narrative idea and obtain a 10-page book with read-aloud audio narration and AI-generated images.
A Google blog article claims that users can add their own drawings or photographs to tales to make them more engaging. Pixel art, comics, claymation, crochet, and coloring books are among the various art forms supported by the feature, which is accessible in over 45 languages, including Arabic and English.
Applications For Education And Personalization
Google markets the tool as being especially helpful for schools and parents who want to utilize narrative to teach lessons or clarify difficult subjects. “Teach a 7-year-old boy about the importance of being kind to his little brother” and “Create a story that explains the solar system to my 5 year old” are two examples of prompts that the company suggests.
By adding family images, users may also turn their own memories into stories. For example, they can utilize the Paris holiday photos to create an adventure story. The platform allows users to upload drawings of children and ask Gemini to create stories about them, bringing their artwork to life.
Technical Specifications And Availability
For the read-aloud function, the created storybooks offer a variety of voice options, including both higher-pitched and lower-pitched narration options. Users have the option to download and print their works or share them via links. The storybook and a chat feature for customisation requests are displayed in the tool’s Canvas-style interface.
Storybook is accessible worldwide via the Gemini app for PC and mobile devices. Before today’s official debut, testing communities reported seeing indications of the functionality in development for several months.
With this launch, Google is continuing to extend Gemini’s functionality beyond text-based interactions, building on recent enhancements such as Audio Overviews and multi-language compatibility for a number of Google services.
