Moto Introduces 2025 Razr Foldable Phones With Upgrades

The basic Razr 2025, Razr Plus 2025, and the high-end Razr Ultra 2025 are the three new models in Motorola’s 2025 Razr portfolio. They all include better cameras, more AI capabilities, and a titanium-reinforced hinge that is four times stronger than the prior generations.

 

Durability Of Titanium-Reinforced Hinge

With a titanium-reinforced hinge plate that is four times stronger than surgical-grade stainless steel, the new Razr series offers a notable improvement in durability. A significant flaw in earlier versions that displayed durability problems after only 27,000 folds was fixed by this engineering improvement, which enables the phones to withstand up to 35% more folds than previous generations. A 30% smoother display with a less obvious wrinkle is produced by the enhanced hinge design combined with durable Ultra Thin Glass.

 

Additionally, all three of the 2025 Razr family’s models have IP48 protection, which shields them from dust particles larger than 1mm and allows them to withstand water submersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. This is the first Razr phone to have dust resistance, which is an important characteristic for foldable phones because hinge mechanisms are especially susceptible to tiny particles. Authentic color reproduction in videos, games, and daily use is guaranteed by the Razr Ultra’s 7-inch pOLED internal display, which is Pantone Validated. All of the models in the range use this display technology, and Motorola’s flip phones are the only ones that offer Pantone Validated color and skin tones.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Processor

With two prime cores running at 4.32 GHz and six performance cores running at 3.53 GHz, the chip’s octa-core architecture offers up to 45% more CPU performance than its predecessor while also achieving 44% more power efficiency. It supports up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM at 5.3GHz and has an amazing 24MB of L2 cache. It is built on TSMC’s 3nm technology.

 

Compared to the previous generation, the processor’s Adreno 830 GPU provides 35% better ray-tracing performance and 40% quicker graphics with comparable power savings. The Snapdragon 8 Elite performs noticeably better than the 8 Gen 3 in benchmarks, achieving over 3,200 in Geekbench single-core tests (compared to about 2,300) and over 10,400 in multi-core tests (compared to less than 7,000). Although it is the first mobile GPU to support Unreal Engine 5 Nanite, users should be aware that it can use up to 45% more power than the 8 Gen 3 when gaming.

 

System With Three 50MP Cameras

With “the world’s most advanced and the world’s first triple 50MP camera system on a flip phone,” the flagship Razr Ultra 2025 is redefining foldable photography. A 50MP front-facing camera, a 50MP ultra-wide lens with Macro Vision capabilities, and a 50MP primary camera with OIS are all part of this amazing array. Additionally, the Ultra variant is the first flip phone to record and play movies in high definition thanks to Dolby Vision.

When the flagship Razr Ultra is in tent mode, users can interact with Moto AI hands-free thanks to Look & Talk and a dedicated AI Key for instant access to these features. Pay Attention is used to record and transcribe audio, Remember This is used to record key information, and Catch Me Up is used to summarize notifications.

 

Moto AI now includes Playlist Studio for topic-based music playlist creation, Image Studio for AI-generated images and wallpapers, and Next Move, which evaluates on-screen material and recommends pertinent actions. Users can select their preferred AI helper for various activities thanks to Motorola’s partnerships with a number of AI providers, including Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Perplexity, which is pre-installed on all new Razr models. Motorola’s AI strategy differs from that of its rivals, who usually only use one AI system, thanks to this multi-partner approach.

 

4-inch Cover Display

Among Motorola’s high-end Razr models, the 4-inch cover display is still a notable feature. The Razr+ and Razr Ultra 2025 both have this large external screen that fills almost the whole top half of the handset.
