Popular workplace messaging app Slack is introducing AI-powered agents and improved functionality as part of its ongoing efforts to develop its AI capabilities. According to TechCrunch, Denise Dresser, the CEO of Slack, plans to integrate AI capabilities from Salesforce, Adobe, and other partners into the platform to make it a “work operating system” and improve user productivity.
Slack AI Agents
Slack’s platform is getting AI-powered agents, which provide users access to a number of new features. In October 2024, Agentforce—previously known as Einstein Copilot—will go into beta. With it, customers will be able to access Salesforce CRM data and carry out operations like email drafting straight from Slack. Furthermore, the Slack Marketplace now provides access to third-party AI agents from businesses including Adobe Express, Asana, Box, Cohere, Workday, and Writer. Slack offers APIs that facilitate the development and integration of unique AI agents for businesses with particular requirements. By allowing users to engage with several tools and do intricate activities without ever leaving the Slack interface, these enhancements are intended to increase productivity.
Enhanced Slack AI Functionality
Slack AI now has more features that can be purchased by subscribers. Among these are AI-generated Huddle summaries, which offer action items and notes from Slack Huddle sessions, increasing team efficiency. The process of task automation is now made simpler by the AI Workflow Builder, which enables users to construct automated workflows using natural language prompts. To further assist users in finding pertinent information across several platforms, Slack’s AI search functionality has been extended to incorporate results from files, canvases, and associated apps such as Google Docs and Microsoft files.
Updates On Salesforce Integration
Users can access and edit CRM data without switching platforms thanks to Salesforce Channels, a new tool included in the Salesforce Starter Suite that integrates CRM data directly into Slack chats. With this integration, sales teams should experience less context switching and more streamlined workflows. In October 2024, Slack will also launch templates, which will offer pre-made configurations for particular jobs or team requirements. This will increase efficiency even further and standardize procedures throughout businesses.
Introduction To Slack Templates
Slack templates, which aim to simplify project commencement and standardize workflows, will be made accessible from October 2024 onwards. Customized channel topologies, integrated canvas documents for project briefings, Slack lists for project planning, and automated workflows for status updates are a few examples of these pre-configured setups. Templates serve as a starting point for a variety of team requirements, which helps to minimize setup time and provide uniformity amongst diverse projects and departments inside a company.
